Description: Join us for the annual Manhattan GREAT STRIDES Walk: Taking Steps to Cure Cystic Fibrosis! We will gather at Poyntz Shelter in Manhattan City Park on Saturday, May 10th to celebrate the money we raised to find a cure or control for cystic fibrosis.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-threatening genetic disease that affects about 30,000 children and young adults in the U.S. People with CF suffer from chronic and life-threatening lung infections and have difficulty with digestion. The median survival age for an individual with the disease is 37 years. More than 10 million Americans are unknowing, symptomless carriers of the defective CF gene.

To register for the walk contact the Heart of America Chapter of the CF Foundation at 1-888-CURE4CF or visit: http://greatstrides.cff.org
