Description: A unique pageant THE STAND OF COLORS will be presented in Kansas City May 17-18 and will re-create the Civil War’s 1864 regional Kansas/Missouri border battles in this area. Nearly 1200 re-enactors from all across the country as well as locally are expected to participate in this first ever two-day event; with some 15,000 visitors expected to attend.
Events (see attached schedule) will begin Saturday morning May 17th and conclude Sunday afternoon, May 18th with action throughout the day, both days, including scripted and non-scripted battle re-enactment between “Union” and “Confederate” forces; period cooking, ladies period fashions; Cavalry demonstrations; artillery demonstrations; military medicine; demonstrations of Civil War weapons; a “Dusk” Battle, plus a Ladies Tea and a Grand Ball. Camps will be open to the public both Saturday and Sunday mornings at 9 a.m.
