Topeka City Council Meeting

When:

  • Tuesdays at 6 p.m.

Event is ongoing: Indefinitely

Where: City hall, 215 SE 7th St. Room 255, Topeka

Cost: Free

Age limit: All ages

Categories: Community Meeting

Description: The council will discuss an ordinance establishing a Redevelopment District for the Southwest Topeka Boulevard District. This is the final reading. Passage would establish the TIF district and the subsequent approval of a redevelopment plan would allow for the issuance of TIF bonds to finance site preparation, property acquisition and public infrastructure improvements. Adoption of this ordinance does not commit the City to the expenditure of any monies or the issuance of TIF bonds. It allows the City to consider the redevelopment of the identified area pursuant to the TIF statutes.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The council will discuss improvements to the City’s sanitary and/or stormwater sewage disposal system. They will discuss a project budget for sewer work of $1,960,000. This would come from bonds, and they would pay for improvements to the sewer system and the construction of a new sanitary interceptor line.
