Holton High students to receive laptops

Starting in January, students at Holton High School can take their teachers home with them.
Every student will get a laptop computer to use at school and at home. They will be used for exams, online textbooks and even movie editing.
One of the main concerns initially was that students would use them to browse inappropriate websites. But, Holton High School leaders say they'll have a handle on that before the computers are handed out.
"All the computers will have a filtering software that will travel with them at home that can only be disabled by the tech staff. So there will be filters on them that'll keep them out of sites and such that they should not be going to," computer teacher Tad Hernandez said.
The school is leasing the laptops from Apple for a three year period. It will cost the high school $210,000.
