SPORTS VIDEO: A Kansas Senator is fighting for the viewing rights of K-State fans.
With only ten days left until Kansas State's match-up with 16th-ranked Rutgers in the Texas Bowl, there are still many fans who won't even get to watch the game. But that might be changing soon.
Kansas Senator Pat Roberts has called NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, urging him to allow Kansans to be able to view the broadcast on the NFL Network without having to buy the channel or upgrade their cable system.
Monday, over the phone, the Senator commented on his discussions with the Commissioner.
"Every Kansan should be able to cheer on their team, be it the Wildcats, the Jayhawks, or the Shockers. K-State fans should not be kept from watching the Texas Bowl just because they subscribe to a particular cable company," Senator Pat Roberts said. "That's not right. So I hope an agreement can be reached. The Commissioner told me he would have an answer next week. Let's hope it's the right one. And I told the Commissioner if it was not the right one, that's why we have hearings."
K-State plays Rutgers a week from this Thursday. We'll have more on the TV negotiations with the NFL Network as they develop.
