Lansing inmate steals prison van, escapes

According to police, John Manard escaped from Lansing Correctional Facility in Wyandotte County at 4:30 Sunday afternoon. He is believed to be driving a white Ford cargo van with Kansas license plate SHD OGS. The van has “Safe Harbor Prison” painted on the side in gold letters.
