Unfortunately, the Topeka Golden Giants don’t get an All-Star break – and they couldn’t catch a break in Chillicothe on Tuesday night. The Giants dropped a heartbreaker to the Mudcats in Missouri, 3-2.
The game marked the start of the Giants’ home stretch of their season. The team is currently 16-12 in the MINK league, and only two games off first place.
Chillicothe holds the first place spot.

Tuesday's Juntion City Generals game against the FCA Grays was cancelled due to "unplayable field conditions." No word yet on when that game will be made up.
The team said their goal is to finish out the season on a winning streak, and perhaps earn an at-large bid to play in the NBC national tournament next month.
“If we can get in that, [we’ll] try to win that thing,” Jerrod White, Golden Giants player, said. “[We’ll] try to keep our pitching staff health and see what we can do in the series. I feel like we’re as good as anybody in the league, and I think we’re in a position to make a run late.”
