Man accused in cell phone assault appears in court

A man accused of forcing a cell phone down his ex-girlfriend's throat appeared in court in Kansas City.
Marlon Brando Gill, 23, was charged with first degree assault.
Melinda Abell, 24, of Blue Springs, said Gill forced her phone down her throat until it became stuck during an argument.
Abell had to have surgery to remove the phone.
