Giants and the Generals on the field Saturday evening

Giants and the Generals both took the field Saturday evening.

The Topeka Golden Giants hosted the Clarinda A's from Iowa at Hummer Sports Park Saturday.

Clarinda had a 2-1 lead at the bottom of the second, but not for long. Chris Dobler smashed one past the shortstop into left field, allowing Jason Cooper to score. The Giants tied the game at two.

Junction City Generals

Over in the Coastal Plains League, after winning their inaugural game Friday night, the Junction City Generals suffered their first-ever loss. The FCA Grays beat the Generals, 6-1.

In the bottom of the third Topeka was on top, 3-2. Nick Carlson hit a deep drive to right center field and gave the Giants a 4-2 lead.

That is where the good news ended for Topeka. The A's offense came storming back. Clarinda won Saturday, 15-8.
