Children sleep through sound of smoke alarms, wake to the sound of mom

The study co-author at Columbus Children's Hospital said the study re-affirms previous research that shows what works for adults doesn't always work for kids.

The study of twenty-four children ages 6 to 12 found that twenty-three woke up to the sound of their mother's voice calling their name and telling them to leave the room.

Fourteen also awoke to the traditional tone alarm and one child didn't wake up to either.
