VIDEO: Crocs may get the best of your feet
Escalator teeth have been known to gobble up a croc shoe and the foot inside it.
Usually the teeth at the bottom of an escalator are in good shape but when they're broken it creates larger gaps, thus putting the kids at greater risk.
One children's hospitals has seen their fair share of cases just like this.
"One of the injuries was particularly serious with a lot of soft tissue loss. And a partial amputation so they are pretty serious injuries and can have long term problems that follow," Trama coordinator, ACH, Donna Parnell-Beasley said.
Parents are advised to pick up their kids when they're getting on or off the escalator.
So don't throw away those crocs just yet just keep a close eye on the kids.

I just saw this happen to a 4-5 year old boy. It was horrifing. I had never heard of any problems with these shoes until the incident. Shouldn't it be more of a well-known fact/story?
