Only in L.A. would a gas station look like something out of a science fiction movie.
"At night people are very curious. They come by they see our dispensers lite up they think that it is a nightclub," said BP Spokeswoman Irena Filipova.
"In the morning when I drive by, my god it is a breathe of fresh air, you know," said customer Peter Berrocal.
BP calls this the Helio House an experimental gas station designed with the environment in mind.
Company officials say it uses low-energy led lighting, farm grown wood, CO2 reducing landscaping and then there is the recyclable canopy.
"The stainless steel canopy collects rainwater and we have rainwater irrigation to for our plants here at the station. We also have 90 solar panels up here on the top," Filipova said.
The bathroom alone may be enough to bring drivers in. It is not just stylish and spacious, but it also uses recycled materials and resource-conserving technology.
On its roof is an energy-saving garden.
"The greener roof obviously something that is becoming very popular in los angeles as well," Filipova said.
But despite all these eco-friendly upgrades, gasoline is still something that is not environmentally friendly.
Don't expect to find any alternative fuels here.
BP says they may becoming in the future though.
"We will see Helios House evolve in its offerings, and it is quite likely that we will be offering other kinds of fuel and will be experimenting down the road," Filipova said.
It is a road that may be sporting more of these futuristic gas stations.
