Governor Sebelius vetoed a bill aimed at preventing cities and counties from imposing their own restrictions on Kansans' ability to carry concealed guns.
Sebelius said in a message to the Legislature that she doesn't oppose an attempt to make sure that the rules for people who have concealed-carry permits are consistent across the state.
But she said the bill became flawed when the Senate deleted provisions that included prohibiting guns at youth athletic events not involving firearms.
Legislators enacted the law allowing Kansans to carry concealed guns last year over Sebelius' veto. They passed this year's measure by more than the two-thirds majority necessary in both chambers to override the veto.

I guess Sebelius didnt have time to read the bill. The Senate did not delete provisions that include prohibiting guns at youth events not involving firearms. Maybe she thought the voters would take her word for it or not read themselves. This bill makes laws consistant and does not take away any protections for our children. Frankly I feel insulted by her message that makes a false statement about the bill.
