The YWCA's Battered Women Task Force will get a boost from the art community this upcoming weekend.

The organization is raising money for its emergency shelter house with the Concealed Revealed Art Show April 28. The shelter house harbors women and children when they are seeking refuge from a domestic dispute in an emergency.

"It definitely goes for a great cause," said Jamie Kennedy with the YWCA.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door, but Kennedy said that little donation goes a long way.

"It's going to help people directly right here in Topeka," she said.

50 pieces of art will be for sale.

"There's a lot of different kinds of art to fit any budget, any taste, whether you are looking for something for your living room or maybe looking for a piece for your office," Kennedy said.

Jewelry, sketches and sculptures, among more typical canvass paintings, will be for sale at a live auction. A silent auction will also be held. The artwork is already on display at Freda and Maude's, 3129 SW Huntoon.
