Federal prosecutors are asking for a longer jail sentence for a Kansas woman who helped a convicted murderer escape from prison in a dog crate.
Prosecutors say Toby Young still professes her love for the man and has found ways to communicate with him. That's why they're asking for a five-year prison term rather than the normal six months. Young is scheduled to be sentenced later this month for knowingly providing a firearm to a felon.
Young helped John Manard escape in February 2006 by hiding him inside a dog crate. They were captured nearly two weeks later in Tennessee.
