Another meeting, another police helicopter debate

Again Tuesday night, City Council members debated the idea of buying an $800,000 police helicopter.

And, again the idea was not on the council agenda.

District Attorney Robert Hecht is investigating whether the Council's decision to buy the chopper violated the state's Open Meetings Act.

Tuesday night, Council Member Bill Haynes proposed that the Council back off the purchase until after the investigation is complete.

But his fellow council members refused to vote on the idea.

49 News will keep following this story and let you know what the council decides to do with your tax money.
