Gardening Tip 10: Start caring for your plants before weather warms up

Planning ahead for planting season starts now.
Greenhouses have many starter kits that will keep seedlings warm and get them started indoors, so you can transplant them later.

Pruning of fruit trees needs to be done in February before the sap starts moving, said Annette Jackson, co-owner of Jackson's Greenhouse.
Spraying your trees while their dormant is also a good idea to keep insects at bay, she said. A number of dormant oil sprays are available.

And, spring is right around the corner. Annette says she's had some customers say that their tulips have already coming up.
