City Council considers selling historic Sumner School

Topeka The school that played a part in the landmark Brown vs. Board of Education case, could soon be sold and turned into housing.
City staff members have recommended that the Sumner School be sold to the Pioneer Group for $25,000. City council members will consider the staff's recommendation Tuesday.
Earlier this year, city officials proposed demolishing Sumner but the Kansas State Historical Society opposed the move.
