Golden Giants takes on Blackhawks in season-opener

Topeka — The Topeka Golden Giants opened up their season Saturday, hosting the Wichita Blackhawks.
In the bottom of the first, with the Giants down 3-0, Joe Hosey poked a shot into center field which scored Ty Legan from second.
Later, in the third, still 3-1, Hosey hit again - this time past the third baseman. Sam Merrill made the most of it, scoring another run for Topeka.
Topeka went on to get the victory in game one with a final of 6-3.
The also took game two by the final of 4-0.
The Giants next head to Clarinda on Sunday.
