Washburn students give life, one pint at a time
10:17 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2007
Washburn students and faculty rolled up their sleeves to give the gift of life.
The Community Blood Center held a blood drive at the University's Health Center.
Blood types at a critical level are O negative, A negative and A-B negative.
The Blood Center comes to Washburn twice a semester.
Donors say it takes a little bit of bravery, but they like to support the cause.
"Blood's not something than can be man made, it's something that somebody has to give," donor Jessica Gabel said.
"Everybody's got family," donor Chad Shaughnessy said. "They could be in an accident. It could be your blood that helps them out, saves 'em. So, like I said, it just, it doesn't take much time, it doesn't cost any money."
The Community Blood Center collected 41-units on campus.
