House rules: Be creative at Gingerbread Homes for the Holidays

Pieces of art so savory you could eat them. That's what guests to the Topeka Performing Arts Center this weekend will see and smell.
And, after the Gingerbread Homes for the Holidays, the edible creations can be taken home.
Gingerbread Homes for the Holidays
- When: Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Where: Topeka Performing Arts Center, Topeka
- Cost: $2 - $12
- Age limit: All ages
Girl Scout and 4-H members are participating this year, as well as some professional gingerbread home makers.
Among the designs are a Hobbit's house.
"Some of them are very, very delicate," said Erin Aldridge with TPAC. "
A silent auction will be held throughout the three-day event.
Those in attendance will even be given the opportunity to create their own gingerbread house at Graham Cracker Junction.
The admission goes to benefit TPAC's youth arts program.
