Story by KTKA Photojournalist Melissa Martz

Hundreds of people spent hours standing in the freezing cold this Black Friday and 49 News Photojournalist Melissa Martz was right there with them.
She met some of the toughest shoppers in the area.
Meanwhile, things were more subdued over at Target.
Doors opened at 6 a.m. and shoppers walked in, excited, but calm.
People we spoke with had been in line as early as 8 p.m. last night.
About forty-seven percent of Americans said they would shop today.
Last year, shoppers spent $9.5 billion on Black Friday.

Anyone who would stand outside a store from 8pm to 6am is nothing but pathetic and greedy!
