INTERVIEW:
Dr. Patricia Petrinely visits with 49 News Anchor Natasha Trelfa to discuss breast cancer awareness during October.
Dr. Patricia Petrinely with St. Francis has an important message she wants to convey, and she's doing it in a colorful way.
The doctor has dyed her hair partially pink to bring attention to October being Breast Cancer Awareness month.
The emphasis on breast cancer screening has increased throughout the years. Unfortunately, doctors cannot always catch everything, but screening has improved, both technologically and in awareness that women are performing their own self-exams.
Mammogram is not the only procedure in maintaining breast health. Clinical examination by a health care provider is also important.
No one test can tell us everything we need to know about breast health. The best we can do is the screening.
Breast cancer will affect one in nine women in their lifetime.
