Hanover teen dies in accident; sports events postponed, cancelled

Two teens from Hanover were involved in a car crash at 8 this morning.

The vehicle Kellan Tegtmeier, 17, and his sister, Kaleigha Tegtmeier, 13, were riding in was traveling northbound on Highway 148 when it went off the road, struck two signs, hit an embankment and rolled over.

The two were taken to the hospital, where Kaleigha was pronounced dead.

Kellan played for the football team.

The Hanover football game against Marais Des Cygnes scheduled for this evening has been postponed to 6 p.m. this Saturday.

The Hanover High volleyball team will not be participating in the volleyball tournament scheduled for this weekend at Marysville school. The Hanover High School cross country team will not be participating in the meet at Riley County this Saturday.
