Father of slain Marine says funeral protest sickened him

Baltimore The father of a slain Marine says he felt many of the signs carried by protesters at his son's funeral last year were personal attacks on his son and his family.
And he says the protests by members of Topeka's Westboro Baptist Church made him sick to his stomach.
Albert Snyder of York, Pennsylvania, is testifying for the second day in his federal invasion of privacy suit against the church. Members have picketed the funerals of military personnel killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, claiming the deaths are punishment for the country's tolerance of homosexuality.
Snyder is suing the church over its protest at the funeral of his son, Lance Corporal Matthew Snyder.
Church members say they are motivated by the fear of God and their need to warn America about its moral decay, rather than a desire to hurt anyone.
Asked Wednesday about a sign that read "Thank God for dead soldiers," Snyder said he thinks about it daily. He added his son should have been buried with dignity, not, in Snyder's words, "with a bunch of clowns outside."

I honestly think that what the protesters do is wrong. I understand the freedom of speech but they take it way to far. I can say that if it were me I would probably be doing the same thing Mr. Snyder is doing.
