The Army National Guard's Blackhawk helicopter landed to a crowd of excited kids Friday.
The helicopter landing at Hoyt's Royal Valley Elementary School was in celebration of Red Ribbon Week.
That's a national campaign to help kids say no to drugs and live healthy lives.
The fly-in was sponsored by the National Guard's Drug Demand Reduction Program.
Coordinator Sergeant Doretha Bighems says the average age for first-time drug use is 11-years-old, so the earlier the kids get the message to stay away, the better.
"This is one of the best parts of my job," Bighems said. "It puts me out in the community and you can just see the fruit of what you do."
The Blackhawk flew to two other schools Friday, Holton's Central Elementary and North Jackson.
