Antique toys appeal to kids of all ages

It's time to go into the attic. You may come out a little richer.

The FX Antique Toy Roadshow has set up at Topeka's Capitol Plaza Hotel.

Experts appraise old toys for free and even buy them from you.

They'll look at toys from the mid-1970s and earlier.

When and where

FX Antique Toy Roadshow

Capitol Plaza Hotel

1717 S.W. Topeka Blvd.

From Wednesday, October 31st to Saturday, November 3rd

10 am to 6:30pm each day

Free

For more information: (561) 628-1990

The last time the Roadshow was in town, the highest appraised item was a Nichols Toy Machine Gun at $250.

Another person's cap gun collection brought in $1,600.

So, what toys should you start collecting now that will be valuable in the future?

"Anything character related," said Joel Magee, Roadshow manager and appraiser. "If it's related to a TV show or movie, those are always gonna go up in value. For example, Harry Potter will go up dramatically down the road. Ninja Turtles, all that kind of stuff."

The FX Antique Toy Roadshow will be at the Capitol Plaza Hotel through this Saturday.

It's open from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. each day.
