Pitcher Bannister continues streak as Royals dismantle Twins

Minneapolis, MN - Alex Gordon hit a pair of home runs Sunday to lead the Kansas City Royals to an 8-1 win over the Minnesota Twins.
The Royals tied their season high with 16 hits. John Buck had three hits for the Royals, including his 17th home run, and Shane Costa added three more for the Royals.
Kansas City pitcher Brian Bannister won for the fourth straight time, limiting the Twins to six hits in eight innings. He improved to 12-and-7 and hasn't allowed more than three runs in any of his last seven starts.
Kansas City won two of four games against Minnesota. The series started Friday.
