Oprah's Big Give makes a cleaning sweep

The kindness of strangers is transforming a Topeka home.
Crews and volunteers got their hands dirty at Raymond Beard's home today.
Raymond is one of five families getting help as part of Oprah's Big Give: Topeka.
Today, workers moved dirt around the foundation to protect the home from water runoff.
They cleared debris from under the back porch.
And Jack DeBacker cleaned and serviced Raymond's furnace.
Much of the work is being done by volunteers.
Donations from Oprah Winfrey and 49 news viewers are paying the rest of the cost.
"It's rewarding to my wife and I," volunteer Darrel Ecklund said. "We enjoy seeing properties improved and lifestyles enhanced."
