Water bills could be on the rise

Here is a comparison for a single family household. Currently, your water bill has a minimum charge of $8.82 for the first 1,500 gallons.
You pay $3.18 for every 1,000 gallons you go above that. If you use 3,500 gallons a month, your charge will be $15.18.
If the increase goes into effect, you will pay a minimum charge of $15 for the first 1,500 gallons and $3.28 for every additional 1,000 gallons. 3,500 gallons a month would cost you $21.56.
One local landlord crunched the numbers and says it's low income families that will take the hit.
Darrel Eklund says, "Low income, elderly residents used to be given a break reduction as much as 30 percent reduction if they qualify. That whole section appears to be struck out."
A public hearing will be held next week on the ordinance.

Still not too bad for what you get. I think of all my utilities water is the only one I have never had go off or not been able to get.
