From the minute you walk through the doors, you can see the mess.
Golden Plains Superintendent Mary Ellen Welshhon says the damage is obvious.
"We've had a lot of leakage and damage," she said.
Now, big fans sit in classrooms instead of students. Officials cancelled classes at Golden Plains Elementary School Friday after hail punched holes in the roof, causing broken tiles and leaking throughout the building.
"The hail was so loud, you just couldn't even hear anything but hail," teacher Marsha Rogers said.
The hail didn't just hit the school building, it also pelted the school's vehicles.
Throughout the town of Selden, cars and homes are damaged.
After Thursday's storm, Joe Bainter picked up hail from his front yard and kept it in his freezer.
"The ground was covered, completely covered in hail," he said. "I lost a side window and my front windshield. My dad lost a windshield in his pickup. My brother lost his windshield in his car."
Welshhon says the damage in the community is great, estimated in the hundreds of thousands for the school alone, but says it could have been worse and she's looking toward the future.
"We're very positive and we'll be here in operation hopefully with students on Monday," she said.
