Pesky pests pose a problem come spring

Spraying around your house and getting it ready for the warmer months can help when it comes to critters.

Jim David from Davis Pest Control says there are a few tricks you can do to keep away unwanted house guests.

"Cut their folliage around the house, put something around the holes around the pipes. Put some steel wool," said Davis.

But keeping your house and yard clear of pests isn't always easy.

"It's gonna warm up and they're everything is going to start coming out," said Davis.

If you have pets inside your home, "Usually a pet won't like it cause they'll go up and sniff it and go away from it, said Davis."

Some sprays and pesticides are non allergenic, so it won't effect you if you have allergies.

And Davis alternates between chemicals.

"I alternate because they will get immune to it," said Davis.

With termites you should look for, "Mud runs, pin holes in sheet work," said Davis.

And he says the cost of controlling the bugs can vary.

"It depends on the house, how many bedrooms, basement, crawl space," said Davis.

He says getting a early start on problem bugs can save you more money in the end.
