Jim Ryun and Lynn Jenkins are battling it out to go up against incumbent Nancy Boyda in November.
On this primary night, many eyes in Northeast Kansas are on the Republican fight for the 2nd District U.S. House seat.
Jim Ryun and Lynn Jenkins are battling it out to go up against incumbent Nancy Boyda in November.
Jenkins is in the lead with 52 percent of the votes.
Ryun is behind with 48 percent.
49 Anchor Sophia Spencer spoke with Lynn Jenkins as the numbers rolled in.
Surrounded by supporters, Jenkins said she was cautiously optimistic that she would win the primary. She said she wasn't very surprised by the results of the day. The hardest part is being patient while waiting for the votes to be counted.
