A front has settled far enough south that drier air has infiltrated into Northeast Kansas. This means that the dewpoints are much lower; and, that makes it feel much more comfortable. It will stay that way through Saturday.
Tonight: Clearing skies and comfortable for a change. Lows around 62 F. Calm winds.
Friday: Fantastic way to end the week! Low humidity, calm winds and sunny skies. Highs around 87 F.
Friday night: Another beauty. Lows near 63 F. Winds turning to the south late.
On Saturday, south winds will help to transport slightly more humid air north into Northeast Kansas. As a disturbance slides southeast, it will interact with the increasing humidity, to bring storm chances back into the forecast as early as late Saturday afternoon and evening. These storms will have to be watched closely: they could pose a washout for National Night Out.
Unfortunately, at this point, National Night Out is looking like National Night...Inside.
