What a way to travel!
What do you do when you've just graduated high school and have nothing to do? Skateboard across America.
"The biggest challenge with ahh...would have to be just skating long, extremely long distances in the blazing heat every day," long boarder Scott Raynor said.
"The biggest challenge would definitely be the Rockies," long boarder Stephan Reinhardt said. "Going up was a real test of strength, coming down was a test of courage."
"People think we're crazy. Some people think we are really cool. They give us donations to our charities, but most people are stoked about what we are doing out here," Scott said.
"We do about fifty miles a day. Since we have been in Kansas we are doing about 100 miles a day. Me and Scott will switch off driving every two miles," Stephan said. "It is just kicking with both legs and then we have this product we use called the Big Stick. You can use that to make extra distance. Traditional skate boards are shaped like short, fat Popsicle sticks. Long boards are: the shape can very. It changes mostly on size and the size of the wheels...A lot of people are like: they are really shocked and amazed at the distances that we cover day to day...It is mostly for the stoke, you know::"
