Increased patrols on highways
Starting Thursday, look for officers out in force

Labor Day is fast approaching and that means more people are popping open a cold one and relaxing with friends.
But the Kansas Highway Patrol cautions if you drink, don't drive. And they'll have more officers out patrolling to help reduce drunks on the roads and make Kansas roads safer. The program starts tonight and will continue until Labor Day.
Trooper Tim McCool explains, "During the holidays we have a higher incident of alcohol-related collisions. Again those collisions not only cause damage to our vehicles, but also fatalities, unfortunately about six per day in Kansas."
Troopers volunteer to work the overtime during the holiday crackdown.
