Developer John Brown had been trying to get the $12 million project off the ground here in Southeast Topeka since November of 2006.
He says after our story aired in February about issues with the City, the process has gone much smoother.
"We had instant response, not only from the citizenry but some of the people behind the scenes. Our Chamber of Commerce were very supportive in this endeavor," Brown said.
There will be a convenience store and an eat-in diner. The complex will also have a car wash. Construction will begin in about thirty days.
