Tonight, the public was invited to Washburn football team's scrimmage at Yager Stadium.
The Ichabods have been in summer training camp since last Thursday and this was their first opportunity to practice in a game situation.
Washburn uses this practice time to help them get used to actual game speed.
They get to play with some referees and fans in the seats.
The coaches also use this practice to see who may play on Saturdays this fall.
"This is really our first big dress rehearsal as far as where we think we need to be in a couple of weeks. This will be a major competition, not only offense and defense, but among the offense and among the defense for playing positions," said head coach Craig Schurig
The Ichabods kick off their season on Thursday, August 28 when they host the Colorado School of Mines.
