49 News Photographer Keith Miles shows us what wisdom the drummers passed on to the next generation.
"These songs go back more than 200 years ago. There's all these different songs that you have to learn, and they are not written down like in school books. You have to hear them, you have to listen to them, you have to grow up with them.
"This is sacred ground we're singing on. We pray here we sung prayer songs. This is the drum of our grandfathers. Everything the Indian does, speaks of his religion and comes from his religion. Our songs, all of our songs are prayer songs.
"Listen to your heart. Listen to your heart. It will tell you the right way to go, if you listen to it. And that's what these songs are about."
