Weather, however, wasn't so nice

A big concern of this Washburn team was it's offense. The coaching staff had to replacing Quaterback Jordan Brill and Running Back Reshawn Mosley, but Thursday night's game proved they found their guys.
Early in the first Jake Iverson saw his first minutes as a starting quarterback, and it was a good way to start a career. He found Brad Cole for 6. The kick was good, and the 'Bods drew first blood against the Colorado School of Mines.
Later in the quarter, another new starter Brandon Walker found his way to pay dirt from about 20 yards out. That put Washburn up 14-0.
Still in the first, fans were treated to more Ichabod offense. Iverson hooked up with Joe Hastings who trotted into score, and Washburn rolled to 21-0.
The 'Bods kept cooking in the second quarter. Iverson found Walker who caught it deep in the endzone and in traffic.
The game was delayed because of bad weather with the score 27-3. Play was suspended for about an hour. The officiating crew called the game with 8:58 to go. By NCAA rules, a game is complete after three complete quarters of play.
The Ichabods will take on Missouri State at 7 p.m. Sept. 4 in Springfield, Mo.
