Who is Sarah Palin?
Kansans react to McCain's VP Pick

Many Kansans, and Americans, woke up this morning saying, "Sarah Who?"
Her name is Sarah Palin and as of today she is the most famous politician you've never heard of.
"I think it's a good fit," said Kansas Republican Senator Sam Brownback. "I think it's a nice time. I think it could be a game changer."
Early Friday morning, Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain tapped the first-term Alaska Governor as his running-mate for the white house. 49 News Political Analyst Loran Smith said it was a pick McCain "needed."
"Vice-Presidential Candidates are often brides to a political marriage," Smith said. "You take somebody who's president and he says, 'what area of the country am I weakest in' and selects somebody from that."
Brownback said it was good for McCain to pick a relatively unknown politician to re-energize the Republican campaign.
"This is a female pick, and on top of that has five children," Brownback said. "(She is) from a major energy state which, with the energy issues so big, I think it really gets a lot of people to take another look at John McCain."
Palin's Positions
Palin is a first-term governor from Alaska.
She is against abortion and believes marriage should be between a man and a woman.
She is also a proud, lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and supports drilling for oil in Alaska.

With this pick McCain hopes to hit rival Candidate Barack Obama in two ways.
First, picking a woman may appeal to some disappointed Hillary Clinton supporters who haven't quite recovered from her loss. Palin even referenced Clinton's democratic primary achievements in her first speech as a vice-presidential candidate.
"It turns out the women of America aren't finished yet," Palin said. "We can shatter that glass ceiling once and for all."
Palin is also three years younger than Obama, which could help the Republican ticket steal some of the youth vote.
The pick won't attract everyone, but Palin has definitely made history by becoming the first female on a GOP Presidential ticket.
Plus, she's made an already exciting race a little more interesting
"I guarantee that tomorrow morning they'll be a lot more Americans going, 'Oh, Sarah Palin,'" Brownback said.
