Topeka City Council and money issues
The council wants to collect a past due bill, and increase funding for Parks and Recreation.
The Topeka City Council will wait to take legal action to collect money owed to them by Consolidated Water District Number One.
For the past three years the city has undercharged the water district .
They have asked for a formal payment of more than $400,000.
They say the district has failed to pay that amount.
At tonight's Topeka City Council meeting, council members decided to wait to take legal action until they could get more input from the legal department.
The city council also decided to increase funding for Parks and Recreation.
This was to adjust the budget for the cleaning up of last year's ice storm.
The money was from a FEMA reimbursement in order to make up what was spent cleaning up.
