11:33 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2008
Wanna hear GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee speak during his visit to the Capital City today? Well, you better get to the Downtown Ramada Inn early or you may miss out.
Kansas GOP Executive Director Christian Morgan urges people to show up at 2 p.m. or earlier for the 3:30 speech. Limited seating is available, he said.
1,800 people showed up for Huckabee's talk in Kansas City this morning, he said. He will wrap up his day in Kansas at a 6 p.m. rally at the Garden City Clarion Inn Hotel.
Huckabee's visit comes a day before the Republican Caucus. He's hoping several appearances across the state will boost his popularity among Kansans, especially those with conservative convictions.
Other Republican presidential candidates are coming to Kansas, but not to Topeka. To learn where John McCain will be today check out this story.
Caucuses will be held all across Kansas. You can find your caucus location at KSGOPCaucus.org. The Republican Caucus begins at 10 a.m. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. in all counties except Johnson, Sedgwick and Shawnee, where check-in begins at 9 a.m.
