Student launches business, raises money for K-State cheerleaders
5:58 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008
Manhattan This student is selling fireworks on the K-State campus.
Proceeds from the fireworks sales will go towards the K-State athletics department and raise money for the cheerleaders and Willie the Wildcat.
Though he’s a junior in art, Brandon Ratzloff wants to pursue a career in business and was happy to have the University help with his interests.
“I absolutely love fireworks, and I was absolutely thrilled to have a university location to be able to sell to people I've been familiar with and kind of my peers,” Ratzlott says.
It did rain in Manhattan today and Brandon said that slowed down sales just a bit.
But to help boost sales, Willie the Wildcat plans to add a little sparkle to the fireworks stand. Willie will be at the booth from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday and 1 to 2 p.m. Friday. The booth is located by Gate 9 of the Bill Snyder Family Stadium parking lot.
