Police investigating city's seventh homicide
20-year-old dead, officers looking 28-year-old person of interest

An early morning shooting in the 1300 block of SW Lane has left a Topeka man dead.
Topeka Police found Timothy Lister, 20, lying the street with a gunshot wound around 5:20 Saturday morning.
Lister was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
Police are looking for a person of interest, to bring him in for questioning. He is a 28-year-old white man about 260 pounds, white black hair, he's about 5'8. His name is Mario Alberto King. Anyone with information is asked to call Topeka Police.

Police posted up outside of a house on Lane across the street from where Lister was found. Detectives went to a 1322 SE Lane around one o'clock Saturday afternoon.
They issued a search warrant and stayed more than an hour in the house. They came out with a white bag, and took pictures of shoes on the front porch. Yvette Segura lives in the house searched, and was taken to the Police Department for questioning. She tells 49 that she didn't know Lister, but he stabbed her husband in her front yard.
Segura says she was inside when her husband was stabbed. She says her husband ran inside the house after he was stabbed. Segura heard a gunshot and ran outside. The police released them from questioning around 3:30 this afternoon.
