DVD, movie releases gives "X-File" fans a double dose of suspense

Mulder and Scully are back, and fans can receive a double dose of "The X-Files" this week.

What's being dubbed the essential guide to the "X-Files" is just out on store shelves today. "The X-Files: Revelations" is a DVD featuring eight essential episodes, along with the pilot episode, for $20.

Creator Chris Carter introduces each episode and explains why he included it.

Film Critic Keith Van Sickle said he wanted more commentary from "The X-Files: Revelations," but it was still worth watching.

"Hopefully, like I said, this will get people caught up 'cause there has been a gap. The show hasn't been on for like six years," Van Sickle said.

The DVD is being released prior to the "X-Files" movie to reintroduce viewers to the characters and to try to sway those who didn't watch the show to check out the upcoming movie.

"The X-Files: I Want to Believe" comes out in theaters June 25, and features the original Mulder and Scully, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.

He encourages the DVD to anyone wanting to see the movie, and says buying this DVD is a good watch and less expensive than paying $30 for each season.
