Post office holds school supply drive

School is coming quickly, and many Topeka area kids need school supplies.

Gage Center Station post office is just one place collecting supplies for kids.

The Back to School community project is with the Topeka Postal Consumer Advisory Council.

They are needing all school supplies and will be collecting them through August 8.

The Council suggests the following items as donations:

  • Crayola Brand crayons
  • Pencils
  • Wide-lined spiral notebooks
  • Erasers
  • Pocket folders
  • Book bags
  • Highlighter pens
  • Colored pencils
  • Blue, black & red pens

There are seven places you can drop off school supplies:

  • Gage Center Station, 1430 SW Woodhull Street
  • General Mail Facility Retail Lobby, 1410 NW Gage Blvd.
  • Hicrest Station, 2921 SE Adams St.
  • Main Post Office, 424 S. Kansas Ave.
  • North Topeka Station, 220 NW Lyman Road
  • Pauline Station, 5826 SW Topeka Blvd.
  • Sherwood Carrier Annex, 6120 SW 29th St.
