K-State preps for 2008

K-State football fans could describe last year as a tale of two seasons. The Wildcats started the year at 5-3 highlighted by a beat down of seventh-ranked Texas in Austin.
And then came that second season where the Wildcats dropped their last four, capped off by a 45-29 loss to Fresno State.
"Frustration kind of reached a high point at the end of last year and each year the team is reborn the seniors leave new guys are coming in. We view this years team as a completely different team as last years," said K-State Quarterback Josh Freeman.
With the way last year ended and with Coach Ron Prince going into his third at helm the purple faithful may be putting some extra pressure to win and win now.
"I don't let the fans predict or determine the pressure. Nobody is going to put more pressure on myself then I do. And nobody is going to put more pressure on the team then the team it's self because we know what we are capable of," said Senior Defensive End Ian Campbell.
"My kids don't like to lose, and I don't like to hear about when I come home. And I don't like to lose either. I sure like and love winning more than I fear losing -- then trying not to coach smart not scared," said Coach Ron Prince.
Despite the pressure the expectations around the Little Apple are the same as they are every year.
"We expect to win every game we play. We know there is a way to win every game. We know it's not always easy, but that's the expectation and that's the way we have approached every game since we've been here," Prince said.
"We definitely expect a lot out of this year, not necessarily because this is his third year. We just expect win games this year, and we expect to be right back here in Kansas City for the Big 12 Championship game," said Junior Defensive Back Chris Carney.
The 'Cats will start their quest back to KC on August 30.
