"To look out here and see this orange fence and then see this orange corral over here is kind of disappointing every day," said Jim Warner, who lives across from a dangerous slope on the Shunga Trail.
The orange fence is still up to keep people aware of the dangerous 14-foot drop. People bike on the trail every day, and Warner wants to know when this orange fence will replaced with a more natural-looking and permanent one. "I would love to see just a simple split rail wood fence put in, a two rail fence, something that's decorative," Warner said.
49 News spoke with City Spokesman David Bevens and he says a permanent fix might be a while.
"The city is re-routing the trail. That will be completed sometime this fall, and the fence will be removed at that time," Bevens said.
Because the drop off is so close to the trail, city crews are going to completely move the trail back away from the erosion.
Water pollution control is taking care of this area.
"Since the stream is part of that storm water runoff, and there is erosion in the stream, water pollution control has agreed to pick up the tab," Bevens said.

The project will take some time because they are still looking for a contractor. So, until it's completed, they're trying to slow the eroding process.
"Water pollution control has placed concrete rumble in that area to help stabilize the bank," Bevens said.
Warner says he is glad work is being done, but wants the view from his house to change sooner rather than later.
49 News will keep you posted on the changes the city makes to this area of the Shunga Trail. Keep watching.
