A Topeka teenager is making history.
16 year-old Benjamin Berlin has autism and now he's the first person with autism to ever serve as a Congressional page in Washington, DC.
He was with Congresswoman Nancy Boyda when she made the announcement Monday afternoon.
He's got plenty of experience. He's worked as a page in the Kansas state capital.
And now he's looking forward to teaching the folks in Washington a thing or two.
"I'm really looking forward to my trip, Berlin said. "And I am just looking forward to have fun and also to show, as my mom would put it, the people in Washington that Kansans aren't a bunch of hayfield people."
Ben will be responsible for delivering mail and legislative materials, answer phones and prepare for sessions of the U.S. House of Representatives.
